Ready to explore deeper waters and become a more confident diver? The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course is designed to build on the skills you’ve already learned, introducing you to new diving adventures while expanding your knowledge and experience.

Contrary to what the name suggests, you don’t need to be an advanced diver to enroll. This course is the natural next step after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification and is suitable for divers looking to improve their abilities while experiencing exciting new underwater environments.

What you will learn

The course consists of five Adventure Dives, allowing you to experience different types of diving while developing practical skills. Two dives are required:

  • Deep Adventure Dive (up to 30 metres/100 feet)
  • Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Night Diving
  • Drift Diving
  • Fish Identification
  • Search and Recovery
  • Wreck Diving
  • Boat Diving
  • Underwater Naturalist
  • Underwater Photography
  • Enriched Air (Nitrox)*

Some Adventure Dives may require additional equipment or prerequisites.

  • Certified PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another recognized training organization)
  • Minimum age:
    • 12 years for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver
    • 15 years for Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Medically fit for scuba diving
  • PADI eLearning or classroom knowledge development
  • Five Adventure Dives
  • Professional instruction by a certified PADI Instructor
  • Air fills (where applicable)
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Certification upon successful completion
